Even a 4x4 Cannot Take on a JCB and Win

Two farmers from the North who one could say didn't see eye to eye have taken their dispute to new levels and managed to get themselves into court. An incident that started as an altercation got way out of perspective when one farmer in his JCB took on his rivals 4x4 car.

The two men from Muldearie who are farming neighbours had been at heads with each other for quite while but their dispute took on a whole new level in November 2007 when everything came to an amazing finale that could well have ended in serious injury. Mr Shand, one of the gentleman involved in this dispute was driving his car a Daihatsu 4x4 along a lane close to his farm when he came across his neighbouring farmer, a Mr Milton. His neighbour was in a classic JCB digger vehicle.

After a confrontation and arguement Mr Milton drove his JCB digger to Shand's stationary car and using a front bucket on his JCB Milton then scooped up Shand's Daihatsu 4x4. Lifting the car up and off the ground 2 or 3 times Milton then dropped the 4x4 back to its wheels.

Mr Shand escaped from his 4x4 during the incident but is reported to have been extremely shaken up by the incident.

The court dealing with the incident informed Milton that he was very very lucky not to have caused a serious injury to Shand or the 4x4 he was driving and that using his JCB in such a manner was in effect using the vehicle as a lethal weapon. Mr Shand was awarded compensation by the court and in amazing twist of fate his 4x4 vehicle actually survived the incident undamaged.
