Clinical Negligence Claims Set to Rise

Rise In Compensation Claims Predicted for Clinical Negligence

Recent studies just published are indicating that medical and clinical negligence compensation claims are on the increase and are also set to rise in some places by as much as 80% which could have devastating effects on some services.

The National Health Service (NHS) is now preparing itself to find a colossal £700 million in total compensation claims funding, representing a rise of about 300 million pounds. Even with numbers indicated at these levels the Government and National Health Service are now claiming they can manage these kinds of numbers.

The shadow Conservative party are not seeing the same principle and are claiming the increase in medical and clinical negligence compensation claims will massively impact on crucial NHS funding and in turn on the essential medical services provided to the public. The Conservatives estimate the increase in compensation claims will take away almost a third of the extra funds that will be allocated to the national health service in the forth coming year.

The dramatic increase in medical and clinical negligence compensation claims is laid mostly at the foot of the door of 'no win no fee' offerings presented by personal injury solicitors throughout the UK. It is also estimated that over half of all the clinical negligence claims relate to maternity cases.
