The next layer should be a blend of plant material and if possible manure which will enrich the compost pile more. Though droppings does not decompose down like the other components it builds in valuable nutrition to generate quality composts. Adding the precise amount of water maintains the pile wet making it wonderful to produce the ideal compost for use in the backyard.
