Rail Industry Strike Action Called For

Staff on the English side of Eurostar are getting a rough deal on timetables the rail industry is reporting. New changes to work rosters has thrown the workforce into turmoil as it has been revealed English workers are now having to work four weekends out of five, but this is not the case for their French counterparts.

Now Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) leaders are urging railway managers at Eurostar to join in support for strike action running up to the Christmas period.

English staff at Eurostar are furious at the changes which are being quoted as being totally unfair. Eurostar have commented in some press releases that they always consult with staff before changes are made but clearly something has gone in his instance. Any strike action taken during the run up to Christmas could have a massive impact on services particularly if rail managers take part. If they do, under health and safety regulations, services would have to be halted causing commuter mayhem.
