One of the countries oldest and most established rail equipment and service based companies, Henry Williams has just successfully completed a million pound upgrade contract for neighbouring company Scottish and Southern Energy.
The Henry Williams company was created over a hundred and twenty five years ago in 1883 and during that time has survived the rigours of industry changes and is now in fact enjoying the revival rail transport by finding new rail service contracts.
Conducing business contracts mainly around rail equipment and rail related services the latest contract with Scottish and Southern Energy alone was reported to be worth in excess of a million pounds. The project involved the upgrading of signal equipment and base work for the installation of a new multi-million pound Flue Gas Desulpherisation system.
Throughout the country there has been a massive upsurge in rail industry contracts as the Government and travel organisations continue to recognise the important part rail travel has in the future of British transport. With billions of pounds now being injected into the countries rail systems it is highly likely that many rail industry companies will benefit whilst the economic downturn of other sectors will continue into 2009.
