The London Underground system is huge by any stretch of the imagination and one that ranks amongst the busiest in the world. The requirement for it to be efficient is paramount but unfortunately over the years it has gained a reputation for being quite the opposite.
The London Underground system was inherently bad for poor time keeping and maintenance failures in many areas, one of the reasons being their insistence on keeping all rail maintenance and rail equipment and systems in-house when they simply couldn't cope with the requirements bestode on them to do so.
One of the best examples of this is the Northern Line section of the London Underground nicknamed by its commuters and rail news pundits as the 'Misery Line' due to it regularly and wholly annoying ability to deliver poor service. In 2005, despite complete restraint from London Underground, private-public relations were formed to outsource many of the maintenance systems including door maintenance which was one of the most common forms of breakdown recorded.
The relationship with Tube Lines has now proved itself to be one of the most effective relationships in the rail industry helping to see delays falling by 55 per cent and confidence returning to the rail systems.
